W.E.B. Du Bois exemplified the truth that no system should be without scrutiny. He made few commitments to political parties, factions, or agendas without the promise of progress towards the values he held most strongly: political representation and self determination; civil rights and social welfare; quality education and free public schools; women’s rights, voting rights, pan-Africanism. Anti-war and anti-capitalism – for starters.
We’re grateful for his conviction and commitment. May our core values always lead us in the right direction.
