INSPIRATION
New York, we did it! 53 years in the making. The New York Knicks are Champions, and we're riding on a wave of hope, joy, and connection. In this moment we are truly one, and the riches of this world feels like they’re for all of us.
We knew we had to represent the city – our home, and the birthplace of Culture 12 – and to create something that embodies the past and present, the power of legacy, and building a winning culture. Our entry point was us wondering, which Knicks player wears #12? What we learned is that the #12 was retired in 1990 in tribute to point guard, Dick Barnett, who helped the Knicks earn their previous two championships. The depiction of Barnett on the front of the shirt is our artistic interpretation derived from a photo of him during his time in Indiana. (image in public domain).
To our beloved New York, it’s been a long time coming, but it also feels like the beginning of a whole new, beautiful chapter! Let’s go!
