This image represents June 19th (6.19) – Juneteenth. The number 1 is formed by the soldiers who arrived in Texas on the morning of June 19, 1865 to deliver and enforce the declaration of freedom to the enslaved. The design is intentionally bold and distressed. The numbers fall in the distance allowing the figures to anchor the composition.
