Garment Care Doe’s and Dont’s

Do not iron directly on a heat transfer design.

Never iron directly on vinyl. The high heat on the vinyl will melt the vinyl and ruin your garment. Regardless, ironing directly on vinyl is a great way to ruin a shirt. If you need to iron your garment use low heat and place a cloth or towel (preferred) over the vinyl’d areas before applying the iron.

No Dry Cleaning

The harsh temperature and chemicals that are used during dry clean just do not mix well with vinyl.

Washing and Drying Inside Out

If you can remember, it’s always best practice to was your garment inside out. This gives the vinyl a layer of protection during the wash. Hang drying will minimize any wrinkles you see in htv after washing.

Use Mild Detergent

Use mild detergent. Believe it or not, detergents that are too “green” can be harsh and compromise the vinyl. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners in order to make the vinyl last as long as possible.

Washing Temperatures

When washing and drying garments with vinyl, avoid extreme washing and drying temperatures (over 178° degrees). So, wash in warm or cold water. Dry in mid temperatures.
